USCIS SERVICE CENTER & LOCKBOX RECEIPTING UPDATES

WASHINGTON – In an effort to give our customers accurate information about current receipting times and service level commitments, United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) is providing the following projections concerning fee receipting and data entry processing of cases currently at USCIS Service Centers as well as the anticipated in time-compliance dates at each site.

Current Receipting updates can now be found using the red 'USCIS Receipting Update' button at the top of the forums

USCIS announced today that it has experienced a tremendous increase in the number of applications filed, which has resulted in a front log of cases awaiting data-entry. USCIS is making every effort to address the delay.

Do we know what caused this lag in the first place? Are there more and more applications coming in all the time, or has the Adam Walsh act caused this backlog? I remember being worried when they stopped DCF that USCIS would be flooded with applications that used to be handled overseas...

I know my mind is boggling at the delays/backlog this amnesty is going to cause right across the board.
