NVC - delays at NVC?

Hi

I just heard of a very disturbing information, hope it is incorrect...

that there is a very big delay (retrogression?) in NVC and cases of spouse to USC can wait now for 2 years...
is this true?

Our forms ds230 and i864 have been received at NVC at Dec 28.
how does that affect our case?

Thanks!

Retrogression only affected the family preference categories. It does not affect Immediate Relative cases for spouses of US citizens.

Who petitioned for you, and is he/she a US citizen?

Where did you get that info about Retrogression? Employment base (EB2, eb3) immigration also get impact with retrogression.

Someone posted in a local forum, said he he was supposed to get an interview but now will wait for 2 years.
he is in different category, but he said he called NVC and they said they do not have a visa available now and even spouses can wait for 2 years !!!

I hope this is a misunderstanding, however he also posted this link

My error. However, this forum deals with family based immigration, hence the name. Generally, employment based immigration issues are not discussed here.

Furthermore, this has no relevance in dealing with the OP's question.

The Visa Bulletin does not apply to Immediate Relative cases.

A case by a US citizen petitioning for a spouse is an Immediate Relative case which is not affected by the retrogression in the Visa Bulletin.

A case by an Legal Permanent Resident (LPR) petitioning for a spouse is an F2a family preference case that is affected by the retrogression in the Visa Bulletin.

When comparing your case to others, make sure you are comparing apples to apples and not apples to oranges.

I appreciate the valuable information which calmed me down, as I thought now I would need to wait for 2 more years and panicked....
I posted the question, because I am not aware of the differences in petitions and cases......and what I heard sounded very strange, and now I understand... I was hoping to get the explanation, and I thank everyone that responded
good luck to all
Happy new year
