hi,

In my case my husband who lives in Pakistan received a interview date and he has all of his interview done and at the end they gave him blue slip that said refusal worksheet that's it nothing else. it doesn't say administrative processing or anything like that. they asked for my pregnancy test since i m expecting and they wanted doctors letter and my passport stamp from the time i visited Pakistan to make sure that i was in Pakistan with my husband when i became expected. they wanted proof that he is really my husband. this is so rediculous they don't believe my husband and think he is ineligible. i m having a baby in 3 months and need my husband here. the documents they wanted were sent to them and they have received it at the Islamabad embassy since 9 days, but so far my husband have not received his passport with visa or all the documents. why is it taking them so long and since the blue sheet does not say administrative processing than why is it taking them time to give him visa. i have given them proof of pregnancy, ultra sound pics, passport entry/exit stamps and the letter from my gynecologist as well now why is it taking them time to issue a visa. i m very worried i need my husband here during this time and they are sitting there wasting time. this should not take that long since all the proof is provided. so what does blue sheet mean with X mark saying ineligible, but providing proof of pregnancy will work. i have given that so what is next and how long will this take now? does anyone know? please do write details about anything anyone knows about this blue slip with no administrative processing what so ever. its only refusal with proof of pregnancy documents needed thats it. any info will be appreciated Thx And tell me which Type of AP is This

My mother is the main petitioner (SPONSOR) for my Dad (who is the Intending Immigrant).

My mother's income does not meet the requirements. However, my income will more than meet the requirements. Thus, I am planning on becoming the JOINT SPONSOR for my Dad.

From what I have read (after much confusion), both my Mom (SPONSOR) and me (JOINT SPONSOR) will have to fill out I-864 forms. (Please correct me on this if Im wrong - I also looked into the I-864A form but understoon that it is for someone in the same household whose income will be used in addition to the sponsor's).

My (JOINT SPONSOR) I-864 form was pretty straight forward.

On my Mom's (SPONSOR) I-864 ,we have some Q's.
*Do we count the JOINT SPONSOR in the household size in Q#21 ? Me and my Mom live in the same household and I have claimed her as a dependent for tax purposes.
Q#21 pt g asks - OPTIONAL: If you have siblings, parents, or adult children with the same principal residence who are combining their income with yours by submitting Form I-864A, enter the number here.

This has me confused since I am a 'adult child with same principle residence' and am using my incomne -BUT AS A JOINT SPONSOR. And I am NOT submitting Form I-864A.

So would I count myself for this question of leave blank?

* On Q#24 b - Income you are using from any other person who was counted in your household size, including, in certain conditions, the intending immigrant. (See step-by-step instructions.) Please indicate name, relationship and income.
- again, do I include the JOINT SPONSOR's income information or not to add to Household income. JOINT SPONSOR will be filing separate I-864.

Thanks for any help...!!

Hi. I have a few questions concerning the i-864 form which I am filling out.
It is for my wife. She is the immigrant. I'm a US citizen.
We are both currently in the US and intend on filing for her AOS and greencard. She entered on a student F-1 visa which basically expired at the end of the school year - May 1st, but she has a 60 day grace period.
I am working and earning an income which is above the required minimum, so I guess that makes me the sole sponsor.

My questions are these:

1. Would someone entering the US on an F-1 visa have an Alien Registration Number (A-number)?

2. PART 2, question 8 of the i-864 form says: "I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above." The possible answers are YES or NO (Applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors). There is also a check-box near the statement itself. If I understand correctly, in my case I should check both the check-box near the statement AND also check the YES. I just want to verify this.

3. My last question has to do with Federal income tax return information required in PART 6 question 25. In my particular case, I have not worked or received any sort of income in the US until recently after having moved here with my wife. I'm an American by birth and I lived here most of my childhood, but my adult life was overseas. The country where I'm from has a tax treaty with the US, which means that if I paid taxes there, I don't need to pay tax in the US as well. So I don't know how to fill out this part. I did a search on the web and found that some say I should file a tax return for zero dollars. But I'm not sure exactly what that means, or how to go about doing that (as you can guess, I've never dealt with the IRS). Can someone please instruct me on what to do regarding this part of the form?

Thank you very much!

Dear board,

First, I am a US citizen living and working in Panama. My wife is a citizen of Panama. I will be changing jobs and will be living in the USA. The ultimate goal is for my wife to obtain her residency visa for the US. We are filing at the US embassy in Panama (i.e, abroad)

My I-130 petition for my wife was approved within the US embassy in Panama. I visited the embassy to obtain the checklist and packet of forms for the next step. When I returned home, I found a checklist that seems to be for a Fiance VISA (K1).

Besides the checklist, forms that were included in the packet were:

1. DS-156 (nonimmigrant finance application)
2. DS-230 part 1 and part 2 (application for immigrant visa)
3. I-134 (Affidavit of Support)

Did the person who compiled this information simply screw up or ..... Would there be a reason why we would have to apply for a K-1 VISA first??? We are already married and this marriage was apparently deemed legit as the I-130 was approved (I saw the stamp "approved" on the form through the window).

In fact, on DS-156 - it explicitly mentions that the form will not be accepted if already married (which is obvious...).

She did provide the DS-230 part 1 and part 2.... but shouldn't the Affidavit of Support be form i-184 and NOT I-134?

My question is simple - is this indeed the correct pack following the approval of the I-130? If not - which forms should I have recieved?

Many thanks!
Scott
